I would love to meet you some day.

What is manual neurotherapy?

I am a licensed massage therapist by training. Yet, what I do today couldn't be further from a traditional massage session. Soon after opening my first practice, I realized that, although each client felt great right after their massage, they would always return to their next appointment with the exact same issues - the same tight neck, the same low back pain, the same tight hamstrings... I was wondering how to get faster and longer-lasting results for my clients, not just maintenance. What if I looked more at the body's 'software' than its 'hardware'? I was intrigued by that concept and that's where my journey down the neuro-rabbit hole started...

I began extensive studies of NeuroKinetic Therapy®, a corrective movement system that addresses and resolves the cause of pain - imbalances and dysfunctional movement patterns stored in the brain. It truly was the missing link in my treatment protocol and forever changed the way I practice. Today, I am a Master Level NKT practitioner and have mentored many students in the Greater Seattle area.

In the spring of 2017, I started my training in Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex®or P-DTR for short. Sometimes referred to as 'human software engineering' I believe that this method is currently the world's most powerful manual therapy technique. It goes way beyond the treatment of neuromuscular conditions. Put simply, P-DTR is the practical application of functional neurology. It works with all kinds of functional problems your body might have, meaning that treatment will beneficially affect the body's nervous system in general, as well as the digestive, musculoskeletal, circulatory, and lymphatic systems. I am proud to have been the first certified P-DTR practitioner in Washington State and beyond excited to bring this powerful treatment technique to you.

What is mind-body pain coaching?

The latest research on pain neuroscience shows that most chronic pain is actually NOT caused by a structural problem of the body but rather by the brain misinterpreting safe incoming signals as dangerous. So when I first heard about Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), I felt like this has been the missing puzzle piece for clients who can't come to see me in person: To me, PRT is the psychological equivalent of what I already do with manual neurotherapy, the only difference being that it corrects the misinterpretation of the incoming sensory information in the brain with a mindfulness and safety-reappraisal approach instead of correcting the hypersensitized receptors on the body. The beauty of this approach is that I will teach you how to take care of your pain yourself, an invaluable skill that will serve you for the rest of your life!

A huge advantage of this approach is: Sessions can be held via Zoom which means this therapy is available to anyone, no matter where they live.

The combination of advanced techniques at Eastside Bodywork creates a bodywork experience unlike any other you've experienced before. I invite you to spend some time reading through the various pages here. Then make a call or email me to see what I can do for you.

I look forward to meeting YOU.
